Alex Van Tol Author / Speaker http://www.alexvantol.com
About MeI'm an author, editor, journalist and freelance writer. I used to teach middle school (grades 5 and 6), but I chased the dream of making a living as a writer long enough to actually catch it and pin it down. It was worth every bit of work.

I love horses, cats, my kids, the winter sky, coffee and visiting schools to talk about writing. Things I'm not so fond of? Revising my first drafts, traffic jams and an overstuffed inbox.

I cannot juggle firebowls. I cannot hula hoop. I cannot keep basil alive. But that's okay. I can tell stories.

Published in 2009 and 2010, these were the first children’s stories written in French and set in British Columbia. My collection of short essays about French "Pour l'amour du français" was published in 1999. I was also the French linguist contributor for the Collins Gage Canadian Intermediate French Dictionary (2005). I live in Ashcroft, B.C.
