About Me
I am an unashamed science geek, and I'll write about science for everyone and anyone, but especially for kids. When I'm writing for kids, I can let my

enthusiasm loose, confident that they are just as excited about the world around them as I am.
When I'm not writing about science, I write completely unscientific picture books, fantasy stories, and the occasional middle-grade adventure.

Speaking Information
I give book-linked presentations, illustrated with a simple computer slide show if the technology is available. The presentations are geared to the age range

of the audience. With smaller groups and when time permits, it's also possible to incorporate an activity - in consultation with the teacher or librarian.
I can also give presentations on broader topics related to the content of my books (e.g., biodiversity, ground-breaking ideas, and more). Again, the presentations can be tailored to the age range and interests of the audience.
Particularly for older audiences, including adults, I can talk about the process of researching and writing non-fiction - either as a short presentation or a workshop.
I charge the standard Canada Council rate of $300 for one session, with discounts to $550 for two presentations at the same location, $750 for three, and $900 for four, plus GST.
