About MeI am an unashamed science geek, and I'll write about science for everyone and anyone, but especially for kids. When I'm writing for kids, I can let my + read more enthusiasm loose, confident that they are just as excited about the world around them as I am.

When I'm not writing about science, I write completely unscientific picture books, fantasy stories, and the occasional middle-grade adventure. Show Less

Speaking InformationI give book-linked presentations, illustrated with a simple computer slide show if the technology is available. The presentations are geared to the age range + read more of the audience. With smaller groups and when time permits, it's also possible to incorporate an activity - in consultation with the teacher or librarian.

I can also give presentations on broader topics related to the content of my books (e.g., biodiversity, ground-breaking ideas, and more). Again, the presentations can be tailored to the age range and interests of the audience.

Particularly for older audiences, including adults, I can talk about the process of researching and writing non-fiction - either as a short presentation or a workshop.

I charge the standard Canada Council rate of $300 for one session, with discounts to $550 for two presentations at the same location, $750 for three, and $900 for four, plus GST. Show Less
