About MeHello! I'm the author of thirty books for children. Many of my titles are nature and wildlife books for young readers, often with a west coast focus. I also + read more enjoy writing picture books. For older students, I have written about selected history and social justice topics.

As a former primary school teacher and curriculum writer for the BC Ministry of Education, I enjoy visiting schools (as time permits) and speaking to students and teachers about books and writing.

Speaking InformationI'm a former teacher who has been speaking in schools and libraries for more than twenty years. I love to talk to students about writing books and have + read more developed a variety of presentations for different grade levels. At this time, however, I am mainly speaking to primary students, as most of my recent books are for this age-group.

I am also an experienced presenter at writing festivals, literary conferences and Professional Development days and I enjoy the opportunity to speak to adults about writing and literacy.

As time permits, I'm happy to travel to visit schools, locally, or occasionally out of town.
