The instructions below are also available as a PDF document, which you can download by clicking here.
In order to update your profile, log in to the CWILL website, click the “log in” button on the top right-hand corner of the screen. You will be prompted to insert your email and password. You were given an initial password to begin with and it is highly recommended that you change your password to something specific to you. You can change your password when you edit your profile.
Once you are logged in, you will be taken to the home page. In order to update your profile, click the “portal” button on the top right corner. You will see a drop-down welcome bar with three options:
Click “Edit Profile” and you will be taken to your personal profile page. It’s now your job to populate the page with text and photos.
On the left side is your basic profile information. This is where you can upload a profile photo, and change your password. To change your password, simply type in a new password in the password field then press “save” on the green bar at the top of the screen.
On the right side is where you can add more specialized profile details. Please note that you do not have to populate every field or area. If you leave a field or area blank, it will NOT show on your final profile. For example, if you do not have any awards, a visitor will not even see the “awards” heading.
Filling out the profile is easy and inuitive. However, a detailed guide for filling out the profile is provided below.
You have the opportunity to upload photos of yourself and your books to various sections of your profile page. However, please note that photos must adhere to the following conditions:

Photos need to be under 2MB in size, which is a standard provision for social media sites.

List up to three external websites. This could be a personal website, such as www.leefodi.com, or a specific page on a publisher’s website, such as: http://www.lorimer.ca/childrens/Book/2849/Shot-in-the-Dark.html.
You may also wish to include your phone number, though please be aware that this will show to the public.
Add in the specific URLs of any of your social media pages. For example: https://twitter.com/leefodi
This photo should ideally show you in action! Possibilities include:
Please note that you do not have to include an action shot/cover photo. If you leave this blank, it will not leave a hole on your profile page. If you do not have a youtube video, you can leave this area blank. It will not show on your profile page.
This is the place where you can post up to three cover images. Don’t worry! You can list all of your book titles in a separate area of the profile. This is just the place to put one to three covers of your most recent or popular titles.
This is a mandatory field. Since all CWILL members have published at least one book, the designers anticipated that each member would have (at minimum) one cover image in his or her profile. If you don't have access to a scanner, you can capture a cover image from your publisher's or a bookseller's website. To do so, simply right-click (PC) or press the “control” key and click (MAC) on the cover image and choose "Save Image As…" This will allow you to save the file to a retrievable location, such as your desktop.
The choices are:
Please click all that apply. These selections will help visitors find authors and illustrators of specific types of books.
